All of our Dog Sitters are carefully chosen to provide caring, loving homes for your dog. Relax knowing that your best friend is being well cared for.
All of our sitters are very experienced dog owners.
They are chosen because of their love for dogs, but they also all have dog-friendly homes and gardens and are available during the day to care for your dog. They all have access to walks and will exercise your dog to the level you have requested, on or off the lead.
Each of our sitters’ homes have been personally visited and passed an inspection by Top Dog Sitters. Where applicable they have also been awarded a Home Boarding Licence issued by their local council.
Lastly, although we hope we never have to use it, Top Dog Sitters Ltd has Third Party Liability insurance, covering claims up to £5 million – for extra piece of mind.
Meet the sitters
Jane & Mike in Crosthwaite
Jane and Mike are a lovely retired couple, living just outside Crosthwaite, in a fantastic country setting. They are very experienced dog owners and sitters and have their own bearded collie. They go for fantastic walks each day in different locations; this is a great home for active dogs. In the afternoon they have lots of games around the garden (which is huge) and settle in at night, in front of the fire, for some cuddles on the couch.

Tracey in Kendal
This is a family house where Tracey is at home with her teenage daughter and their dog a springer spaniel. Tracey previously volunteered at Wainwright animal shelter and is one of our few sitters that are happy to look after epileptic and diabetic dogs. Dogs with these medical issues need 24-hour supervision and a calm head, and Tracey offers all that and more.
Ruth in Levens
Ruth is a retired lady who just loves having doggie companionship, a home is not a home without a dog for Ruth. Her garden is very secure and there are local woodland walks accessible from her house
Jenny in Dalbeattie
Jenny lives in a detached house with a very large sized garden with direct access to woodland walks from her house.. Jenny is retired but is very active and enjoys dogs small and large for company. She is a very experienced dog owner and sitter.
Top Dog Sitters offers a Home Boarding Service for dogs as an alternative to Kennels. Some dogs find kennelling very stressful, so our service allows your dog to be given the space they need to run, sleep, play and generally relax.
They are given the run of the sitters’ home, with no cages or kennels and are treated as part of the family – It is holidays for dogs at its best!
